Day 5

As we watch our new little one grow, we pause to appreciate how wonderfully lucky we are. Our thoughts are with Joey, our friend in Egypt, and all of those people in Egypt who are standing up to get a democracy going and to end the Mubarak dictatorship. Stay safe, Joey! Hopefully, our own democracy-loving government will do the right thing and support the transition to democracy.

Genevieve is doing great, except for some soreness, but she is getting some excellent physical therapy for her after-baby healing. Thank you, Roxanne!

Huckabye is doing great too. A lot of eating, pooping, cooing and sleeping, and not much crying. So far, his mellowness level is off the charts. At his first check-up, he weighed in at 7 lbs 15 ozs, and he measured 21.5 inches. Yes, that is a little bit of shrinkage. Fortunately, he has plenty of giant boob power to propel him in the other direction.

Welcome to Kodiak, Nana! Thanks for all the help! It's nice not to be outnumbered.

Two big buddies, helping out. (This is a pre-birth shot, but they are definitely being helpful buddies.)

Here they are, helping Boppa and Huxley take a power nap. So helpful! Pretty sure we couldn't have done it without them.

First and last pics are my favorite. Giggling w/Mama and snuggling w/Boppa, encouraged by big bro Stokes' direct eye contact and reassuring embrace : )
