Tick-Tock

One week remains until our big move into the big city in anticipation of CSVBR's big move. Five weeks of Anchorage. There we'll have access to the internet, amongst other things. For that reason, we bought a new tiny travelling computer. It's pretty awesome so far, although if my hands were Boodah's size, the typing speed would be better. In any event, it's all set up for Skyping, and that's one of the main reasons we bought it. One other cool thing about it is it does not use Microsoft. It uses Ubuntu, which is totally free and open source. It is awesome. And has lots of good software.

And of course, we'll be getting the internet fired up again in Unalaska once we get back. Hopefully the four month break was enough to break us of our worst habits, and we'll only use the net for blogging and essentials. Yeah, right. We can always hope! Our big hang up is that if you want the fastest internet option, you have to get cable. We don't want cable, being the wacko anti-tv monsters that we are. Actually, we are not that monstrous, as we bought an antenna so we could watch Flash Unalaska once a week. But that's because we usually get to see Boodah, or at least somebody we know, on the tube. And it's just one commercial free half hour.

Enough with the boring stuff. Boodah got his first powder turns! On a snowboard, anyway. Between the skiing and the snowboarding, I think the boarding will be the easier one to get going. We'll see!

This past week the weather has been incredible. Either snowing or blue sky. My two favorite options. There's not enough of a base for serious snowboarding, but there was enough for Boodah to have fun. And enough for Boppa to achieve his life goal of snowboarding and surfing in the same day. (And throw in some cross country skiing just for the heck of it.)

What else has been going on? Paxson Revel Boodah turned two. Hooray! He loved his airplane cake, and lots of other goodies. And my Dutch Harbor friends threw a surprise baby shower for me. Thanks, everybody! (Unfortunately I did not take any pictures. Alas, our pumpkin carving party was equally undocumented.)

Other big news is we have made a big move in the home decorating direction. We have even framed some things and hung them up. We even bought an art print at the museum fundraiser. We are getting crazy! The Big Lebowski, Nixon Bowling, Bar-noculars, ET/Michael Jackson, and Don Quixote posters alone are no longer cutting it. We are daring to go for a theme. Alaskana! But do not worry, Buck is making the cut.

Okay, I'll just be hanging out, hoping Captain Stokely Von Bering Racecardrivernumerodos doesn't decide to make an early appearance in the next 7 days.

Blue sky. Yay!

Picture Update

So my mom doesn't go crazy, here's our latest adventures...

We had a nice Saturday of babysitting Senor's best buddy Max and enjoyed a blue sky day at the beach with airplanes. What could be better?

Senor greatly enjoyed Halloween this year. Here's his piggy friend, Addy and a few of his other buddies. He consumed more than his fair share of candy...
In fact, so much that he choked on a tootsie roll at the end of the night and puked all over his mama. Ew. Whew, that feels better. We had a pumpkin carving party with lots of friends and didn't take any pictures. But the pumpkin has been a big hit.

Here's the Mr. in his "hulk" bath. He watched the entire Incredible Hulk movie (his first ever movie) and now says, "Boodah Hulk, Boodah strong" a lot.

We're eating tons of tasty organic produce thanks to our membership in Full Circle Farms. It's pretty darn awesome and we're the delivery people who pick it up at the airport and bring it to the drop off location so we get a glorious amount of free produce every week! We've been enjoying our first snow in the mountains....

Is this nesting? Our major kitchen clean-up...you never know what's lurking under your stove.

What a picture to end on. Oh well.
