Baker City Part II

Teaching kids the important things, i.e. the joy of fire.

Andy told all the kiddos to stay back from the fire. Mister took the instruction seriously!

Jake and Megan, training for their May stork delivery.

Grammy-cita and Gramps D.

Extreme skiing mama, Jen and cargo Henry.

The snowfest at Anthony Lakes. Dummy contest.

Boodah in his rental skis.
And rental Alaska helmet! He's actually borrowing Liza's skis in that last picture.

Above, Boodah admires Ivan's snowboard setup.

I gotta go I gotta go!

Gray and Loco.

Greg and Sonja.

Liza sliding on the kids fun hill.

You can have my Pooh toothbrush when you pry it from my cold dead fingers.

I think that's how the saying goes. Something like that.

Lodging for the Anchorage airport, purchased at the coolest toy store in Walla Walla. This is the trial run at the Walla Walla airport.

Playing steamroller.

In this TSA laden post 9-11 day in age, it's such a joy to fly into and out of tiny airports like Walla Walla. The hype seems very minimal.

A spare hour in PDX.

Anchorage lodging, for four hours anyway!

It may look like a tragic racecar accident, but it's just Boodah, getting comfortable.

Home Ownership & Adventures

It's almost official. We'll have to send out change of address forms soon. Between arranging the details of the home purchase and finding new daycare for our kiddos, we've been off the blogging train. But we have been taking pictures.

We also got fed up with the lack of snow here and went to America for some winter-esque fun. Anthony Lakes to be precise. The trip gave us the added benefit of MVP Goldness with Alaska Air. The main benefit of that is we get extra miles every trip we take, we don't have to pay those annoying bag fees, and we occasionally get put up in first class if there's an empty seat. And we don't have to pay change fees.

We rented a ranch house for the weekend near Baker City, and met friends with toddlers or soon to be toddlers for some kid friendly ski hill fun. The house was rip roaring with activity each morning by 6:30 AM. Perfect training for the upcoming switch to daylight savings time. Grammy-cita and Gramps D came over from Boise, which is just two hours away.

We flew to Walla Walla, which is a pretty cool town. The downtown reminded me of Missoula. It's a college town. We were a bit worried about the snow at first. It was 60 and the sun was blaring! We drove quite a while before we finally found some snow.

Our worries were unfounded as we found a healthy base of lovely snow up at Anthony Lakes, which is at 7100 feet elevation.

As it turns out, as soon as we left, Kodiak got pounded with snow and has been getting dumped on since. So we returned to a winter wonder! Cold fun snow all around! Just in time for long days so we can play after work.

Mosh Pit action. As it turns out, kids love AC/DC!
