Let's Do It Again!

The highlight of the trip may have been our visit to Ayers Rock. Most people have a hard time working this into their Australia itinerary, given its geographic isolation, but we managed to find it. It's amazing how much ground a person can cover in the Palace.

The other highlight of the trip was the constant referencing of Big Love, particularly the road trip episode.

Seriously, the highlight was the night in the heartland of the great lakes region, Buladelah. Ahh, the finest Caravan Park for miles around.

Okay, this part was pretty fun. Feeling like we discovered our very own deserted beach.

Boodah enjoyed this descent many times, each time shouting gleefully, "Let's do it again!"

The close up is meant to show the bum crack track. We sure thought it was funny at the time.

And another amazing view from the Palace while eating the tastiest of treats from the tasty bread store in Nelson Bay (3:30 snack, a tradition we tried to keep daily).

Actually, we didn't get any pictures of it, but this was the day we all discovered our love of kangaroo meat pie. Whoever knew those bouncy cute things could be so MMMM DELICIOSO! Good old Red Ned's, named after a famous Australian "bushlander". Bushlander means outlaw in Australian. You'd think with a term like that, they too might have had a president from the Bush family in their history. Seriously, Red Ned's has some amazingly tasty meat pies. They are practically worth a trip to Australia in and of themselves. Check out the options!
