The Magic Number - Happy Birthday Boodah!

It was Boodah's day all day yesterday. Happy Birthday, Paxson Boodah Revel Racecardriver!

What's a birthday without raspberry birthday pancakes and bacon?

A day of lovely, sunny weather appeared just in time to help us celebrate. After last week's rain, the mountains were covered with snow. So... it was time for some birthday snowboarding, of course! (We almost had a birthday meltdown on account of some forgotten 'ki poles, but we managed to overcome it.)

Stoko enjoyed the breakfast portion of the day with his usual gusto. Sometimes I can't help but wonder what he's thinking. "Looks like food. I think I'm supposed to put it somewhere in this facial region. Yes, yes, that's it. Delicious! I think the floor wants some, too. Here, floor. Here, shirt. Okay. Let me out of this chair, I'm done."

In action on the slopes of Pyramid Pass.

This actually used to be a Navy ski area. It still is, served by one lift:

The Boppa Express High Speed Chair.

What better way to celebrate the day than with a racecar cake?

The three is a nod to Tallahassee, who always painted a 3 on his car. And to Mister's age, of course.

And of course, there was the trip to Monashka beach. When it's your birthday, you get to wear your swimsuit to the beach. Over your carhartt's. We didn't spend much time actually on the beach, but we did run around in the pooky forest quite a bit. And we got to hang out with Missy and Vega.

Enjoying presents, playing with toys, and talking to Nana and Grampa Bill.

Sally and Glen came over to help Boodah celebrate!

Here's Stokes, modeling Boodah's cool new beanie.

Stokes is in to hats these days.

Hello November

Whoa, the time switch makes for a dark right after work time! In the next 100 days, we'll need to get good at finding fun indoor activities. Fun indoor activity number one involved chocolate. Mmmm... double fisting the stirring spoons.

Brownies are extra tasty with a ninja helper!

We couldn't help but stock up on the $2 Walmart after Halloween costume special. Don't be surprised if the Hulk makes an appearance, too.

So, our November started off with some walking/biking adventures to Near Island. Boodah rode his bike.

Fortunately, parking was ample.

Hmm... How much higher can the tide possibly go?

Riding Boodah's jet-ski and exploring.

As it turns out, the tide went a little higher. Nothing like fording a small ocean on a November day to get the old heart beating!

Whew, at least the bike is still there. Check out our windmills in the background!

We discovered some Pax Rev grafitti under the bridge on the way home.

Standing at the stove has magical powers over Stoko. Within seconds of a person approaching the stove, he can magnetically be found in the following stance:

Two clean buddies! (Boodah prefers to bathe in his swimsuit these days.)

Trick or Treat

Paxson loved his first foray into the door to door trick or treating scene. The local residents went all out to make it a 'pooky and 'cary experience.

And as you can see by the sunshine, the weather was amazing. The little chicken did have some trouble keeping up the trick-or-treating momentum.

On our own deck, we had to watch out for crazy bike-riding puppies!

We enjoyed a mid-day Halloween dog-walking adventure with Missy and Vega to a new (to us) lovely sandy beach. And there was even a cool fort area for Boodah to explore.

"Driving" and enjoying sunshine.

Halloween family photos:

Mister's very own jack-o-lantern. He ade it himself.

Back in the custody of the car seats.

Our little Farley.

Last weekend, we were blessed with sunny weather, too. Actually, it's been a rather stunning 7 day stretch we've been enjoying. Lovely, crisp fall air! Here we are having lots of fun #2 on our off trail circumnavigation of Horseshoe Lake. Extreme Mama!

Boodah, rescuing Mama.

Rescue success!

And of course, the beach.

Hey, hooray, snow on the mountains! Winter is coming!
