Grammy and Baca Visit Dutch Harbor

Baca (rhymes with Boppa) is Boodah's pronunciation of Grampa, or Gramps as we enjoy calling him. We had lots of adventures during their short visit here. Of course, the dominating conversation revolved around Sarah Palin, as that was the big news on their day of arrival, and it never stopped being fun to read the internets about it. Like many people, we've been very intrigued by the Palin selection and have been researching our Governor. Wow. There's a lot about her we didn't know! And we live here! These times are always fun, and we've been downloading lots of John Stewart for entertainment value. (Of course, "lots" by our standards given our internet speed is about 2 minutes of clips per half hour.)

Back to the adventures. On the first day, we hiked up the Shaishnikoff River while Baca stayed behind and caught lots of humpy's. We discovered blueberry paradise, and filled bags full of pure tasty goodness with the greatest of ease. Meanwhile, Gramps was knocking 'em dead downstream.

After that, we attempted to eat some of the Humpy's. Fortunately, we had emergency pie, as the Humpy's were a little spawned out.

Our other adventures with Grammy and Baca were hiking out to the ever lovely Peace of Mind cabin, and having a picnic at Morris Cove.

Successful beach-combing! (That's a fine camo shirt to add to Baca's wardrobe.)

Thanks for coming to visit, Grammy and Baca! It's always a pleasure to hang out with you! Good luck catching deers and fish in Kodiak, Baca, and happy Anchorage hanging out, Grammy! We're looking forward to your permanent move up to Alaska!
